Ergonomics Check Point
It is important to choose a workplace where there is a strong natural airflow, especially in hot climates. Avoid working in relatively enclosed corners or in narrow spaces surrounded by equipment or partitions. It is a good idea to increase openings to the outside, for example, by opening windows and doors or creating new openings. All of this helps to increase natural ventilation. Equipment should be redistributed if it obstructs the natural airflow and partitions should be relocated or removed. Ceiling fans can also be used to increase the flow of hot air to the outside (hot air rises). Finally, try to establish the habit of partially or fully opening windows, depending on the weather and wind.
When resorting to increasing natural ventilation, it is important to protect the workplace from external heat. It is equally important to move heat sources out of the workplace and improve production procedures to minimize the need for special ventilation. Machines should be installed in a location where hot air can easily rise and exit to the outside. On the other hand, air inlet and outlet openings at the top and bottom of the walls help the hot air rise and allow cold air to enter through the lower parts. It is also necessary to eliminate or insulate sources of contaminated air while trying to increase natural ventilation.
